The hike to Highline Ridge starts in the woods
Small steps work best during the steeper portions of the ascent
At this point we emerge from the woods and approach the ridge
The first runs appear on the left. In this case it ("Donkey Seranade") was closed. You also will not find them all listed on the trail map. Repeat ridge hikers will know the names.
Once at the Highline Ridge, walk till you find the fresh snow and entrance you desire. Nasty cornices can develop making the selection of a safe entry point important.
