Apres Ski at the mountain base:

Courmayeur Apres Ski activities can be found at the bars and patios at the base of the ski area (the side serviced by the town tram). Attendance on the outdoor patios of Super-G and Christiania Pizzeria are of course weather dependent. The best apres ski festivities are located at the ski mountain base however there are additional activities in town but those are more like a traditional happy hour.

Courmayeur on-mountain Dining:

There are a few on-mountain dining options spread around the mountain and all offer excellent tasting food which may challenge one's ability to skip lunch. The base of the ski area has the "Christiania Pizzeria". The base of the Zerotta lift has "Capitan des Alpes" and "Ristorante Zerotta". Mid-mountain favorites include "Chez Ollier" and the chalet located at the peaks of the "Checrouit", "Aretu", "Le Greye" and "Bertolini" lifts. The "Plan Checrouoit" at the top of the "Checrouoit" gondola has excellent pastries to compliment any meal or to have on their own although the toilette facilities here resemble a third world hole in the floor. What's up with that? Squatting in ski boots can be quite a challenge!

Courmayeur Dining:

Courmayeur is famous for its exceptional restaurants on a scale reserved for celebrity chefs in major metropolitan cities. Do sample a few as they are an incredible experience on their own without the big city prices. Note that the restaurants are so popular in Courmayeur that reservations are best made a week in advance. This is unlike most other ski towns and is unusual but never-the-less, it is required. You have been warned.

Tipping is not a common practice in Italy, or in general, anywhere in Europe. The bill is the total price you pay for the meal. I must note however that I have never seen a cash tip refused.

Nightlife in Courmayeur does not go late like its neighbor Chamonix as there is less focus on night life and a greater focus on skiing, restaurants and private gatherings. The nightlife centers on the bars in the main village of Courmayeur and along the walk street Via Roma.
